Look familiar? They should... in the early 1970's both Allis-Chalmers and later, Simplicity, manufactured the Homelite brand of garden tractors. The cosmetic differences are significant between the two types of Homelites, and they are also subtly different in many small mechanical details. Start by browsing the Allis-Chalmers and Simplicity information to the right. Then, for more details, review the Homelite to Simplicity Cross-Reference table that shows the differences between the two brands, including the attachments. We're still researching the differences between the Allis-made Homelites and the Allis-Chalmers 400 series of the same timeframe. Both were made in the Lexington, SC Allis-Chalmers plant just before it was closed.
