Johnny Box. This is a combination rear weight box and counterweight. It is a companion product to the Johnny Bucket Jr., below.
515 Front Loader. This is the Owners/Operators Manual for the Simplicity 515 Front Loader. This is the equivalent of the Allis-Chalmers L-12 loader.
Dump Cart. This is a sequence of photos that illustrate the complete double-dumping action of the Simplicity and Allis-Chalmers 1000-lb capacity carts.
Johnny Bucket Jr. Since I originally suggested that John Scheele make a version of his Johnny Bucket Jr. to fit the Simplicity garden tractors, I received special introductory pricing in return for this product review. Read my story of the first weekend I spent with this great
attachment. See the Johnny Products website for more information.
B & S 300401. This is the Briggs & Stratton Operating and Maintenance Instructions for the L-head, single cylinder, cast-iron 12HP engine It was used in several Simplicity and Allis-Chalmers tractors from the mid-60's to the early-to-mid-70's, when Kohler engines became standard.
See the Briggs & Stratton Website for online parts lists and other information, including help in identifying your engine.
Snowthrowers. This section includes the owner/operator's manual that covers the earliest Simplicity 3-belt drive snowthrowers, and a representative later single-belt, B-Series Allis Chalmers snowthrower.
B & S 243431. This is the Briggs & Stratton Operating and Maintenance Instructions for Models 243431 to 243434. This L-head, single cylinder, cast-iron 10HP engine was very common. It was also used in several Simplicity and Allis-Chalmers tractors from the mid-60's to the early-to-mid-70's, when
Kohler engines became standard.
Rotary Mowers. This section provides representative owner/operators manuals for 42" and 48" mower decks.
Front Light Kit.This instruction covers the installation of the 2025066 Front Light Kit on B-1 through B-12 tractors. The same basic procedure would apply to
Hydraulic Lift. This instruction is for field installation and operation of the optional hydraulic lift on Allis-Chalmers B-10 and Big 10. This is the first of two different B-series hydraulic lift systems, but the installation procedure should be the same. Adding a used
hydraulic lift systems to a different tractor is a very popular enhancement.
32" Rotary Tiller. This operating instruction covers the earliest B-series tiller and the corresponding tiller drive.
High-Low. This operating instruction covers the optional and now highly desirable two-speed pulley system. This special gear-reducing transmission pulley provided 6 forward speeds and two reverse from the standard 3-speed transmission. This High-Low pulley system was available for all Allis-Chalmers
B-Series tractors prior to the B-110/112, and all Simplicity Landlords/Sovereigns prior to the 2110 and 3012. A different two-speed system was available for Broadmoors and later 700/7000 series tractors.
Right Lift Lever. This is the Operating Instructions for the Right Hand Lift Lever, No. 2025046 for Model B-10 Tractor from Allis-Chalmers.
Sickle Bar. This is the Operating Instructions for the 46" Sickle Bar Mower, No 2025058, for the B-Series Allis-Chalmers.
Safety. I personally know "the hard way" that safety is the most important factor in operating your tractor. Enjoy these two pages of humorous safety reminders from Allis-Chalmers. (And, no, I really don't want to bore you with my negligent accident...)
Speeds. The engine speed and operating speed of your tractor are critical for optimum performance and engine life. In general, keep engine speed high (usually 3/4 to full throttle) for both power and engine cooling and control the ground speed as necessary using the transmission. I've included two pages that show appropriate engine speeds when using
various attachments, for both hydrostatic and gear-driven transmissions. Note that if you have a different transmission, the ground speed (in MPH) and engine speed will still likely apply.
B-207 & B-208. This is the Owner's Manual for the B-207, B-207E, B-208, and B-208S tractors.
