I do not the history of my Simplicity Landlord 101, nor do I know if the duals
are factory or home-made. I do know that this is a real climber/puller.
Attached are a few photos of me pulling a large culti-mulcher with several
hundred pounds of added weight. I have a Long 510, a Ford 8N and a Massey
TO-30 but usually they have a mower, box blade, or something hooked on so it
is easier to do some things with the Simplicity. I probably shouldn't be able
to pull the implement with a 10 HP garden tractor that smokes a little, but it
does just fine. I traded a neighbor something for it, and he said it was hard
starting. I couldn't get it started at all. I finally took the coil to get it
checked and luckily talked to the right person at the dealership. He told me
that the coil was good, and my cam was no doubt worn so bad that the points
wouldn't close. He then showed me the magic piece -- the electronic
replacement for the points/condenser. That, coupled with a new plug, made all
the difference in the world. Now it can sit for several days, and still start
in a heartbeat.
I also have an old Wheel Horse, but I put it in the back of
the barn as it has gone through three coils at $95 each in one season.
